What was expected of the colonist through the new quartering act passed in 1774 as part of the coercive acts?

Well, the Quartering Act itself was a law that was passed that permitted British soldiers to be housed within private owned homes. Because of this Act, colonists were expected to allow British soldiers into their homes and to treat them with hospitality (i.e. food and shelter)
