Can someone help me solve this equation -5(3x-4)+4=114

using distributive property you would do what it is in the parentheses first. So -5(3x-4) would be -15x+20. It would be a positive 20 because you multiplied a negative with another negative. Youre equation now would be -15x+20+4=114.
Using like terms you would simplify 20 and 4 to get -15x+24=114. To get variable x alone you would subtract 24 to both sides of the equal sign to get -15x=90. Now you would just divide -15 to both sides to get x alone. So you would now get x=(-)18.2

-15x divided by 90 is 6, not 18.2. So your answer is -6
