It is given that the circulation is 300 copies per 1000 persons.

Total population = 50,000

Let us find how many 1000s go in 50,000

(50000)/(1000) =50

For each of this number, 300 copies are circulated.

Multiply 50 and 300

50 x 300 = 15,000

Hence, 15,000 newspapers would be sold.

You are given that Daily newspaper circulation is about 300 copies for every 1,000 persons.

Then write all given data as proportion:

300 copies - 1,000 persons

x copies - 50,000 persons

or

(300)/(x)=(1,000)/(50,000).

Solve it:

x=(300\cdot 50,000)/(1,000)=15,000.

Answer: At this rate, would be sold 15,000 newspapers in a town of 50,000 people
