It is given in the diagram that the angle is 60 degree and the height of the building is 60 feet .

We have to find the distance of John from the base of the building.

Let that distance be x feet .

Now we use tan ratio formula which is

tan \theta = (opposite)/(adjacent)

In the diagram, opposite is x feet, and adjacent is 60 feet. So we will get

tan 60 = (x)/(60)

On cross multiplication, we will get

x = 60 tan 60 = approx 104 feet
