\left[\begin{array}{ccc}2&6&3\\-5&1&4\end{array}\right]

R1 ÷ 2 =
\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&3&1.5\\-5&1&4\end{array}\right]

R2 ÷ -5 =
\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&3&1.5\\1&-0.2&-0.8\end{array}\right]

R2: R1 - R2 =
\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&3&1.5\\0&3.2&2.3\end{array}\right]

R2 ÷ 3.2 =
\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&3&1.5\\0&1&0.71875\end{array}\right]

R1: R1 - 3R2 =
\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&0&0.65625\\0&1&0.71875\end{array}\right]

Answer: x = 0.65625, y = 0.71875
