During a recent school football game, your quarterback was sacked and lost 2 yards on the first down. On the second down, a 35- yard pass was completed. On the third down your team rushed for 15 yards. Did your team get a first down (a gain of 10 yards) as a result of these plays? How many yards did they gain total? HURRY!

First play - 2

Second play + 35

Third play (after the first down) + 15

No they didn't get a first down. They got two of them.

The total gain was

-2 + 35 + 15 = 50 - 2 = 48 yards gained.
