What is the transformations change the graph of f(x) to the graph of g(x)?

f(x)=x^2:g(x)=(x+7)^2+9

Comparing the two functions, you see that

... g(x) = f(x+7) +9

When x is replaced by x+7, the graph is shifted left 7 units.

When f(x) is replaced by f(x)+9, the graph is shifted up 9 units.

The transformations of f(x) are

  • shift left 7 units
  • shift up 9 units
