With the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492, gave Spain to emerge in economy growth by getting access to New World for colonial expansion. Spain acquired agricultural products such as potato and corn. The mines of gold and silver from Bolivia, Peru, and Mexico; Spain gained the wealth for its empire. The bullion (gold and silver), used for the troops in Europe, rather than spending in domestic use in the country, which led to inflation.

Whereas England's economy, it flourished because of the mercantilism, and the rising population which help in producing wealth in the country, and the reduction in imports and increase exports.
