Area of a rectangle (Ar) = Length (L) x width (w)

Area of a square (As) = side (s) squared

Ar = As

4 x 16 = s²

64 = s²

√64 = √s²

+/- 8 = s

Since length of a side cannot be negative, disregard the -8

s = 8

Answer: a. 8
