18-2(3+4) how do I solve this problem?

You have to distribute the -2 to the equation in the parenthesis.

18 - 2(3 +4) \\ 18 - 6 - 8
Then you need to combine like terms

12 - 8 \\ = 4

So, let's figure this one out.

First, of all, we do parentheses first. 3+4=7.

Then, we do multiplication 2x7=14.

Lastly, we do subtraction! 18-14=4.

So, your answer is 4!
