A

Formula

Total time = Time for 1 commercial * Number of commercials.

Givens

Total Time = 3.6 minutes

Time for 1 commercial = 0.6 minutes

# commercials = x

Solve

3.6 = 0.6 * x Divide both sides by 0.6

3.6 / 0.6 = x

x = 6 commercials.

B

Just use the formula again, only this time, use 0.3 for the amount of time needed for 1 commercial.

3.6 minutes = 0.3 * number of commercials

3.6/0.3 = number of commercials.

12 = number of commercials.
