The denominator must be different by zero.

Therefore


4x+2\\eq0\ \ \ |-2\\\\4x\\eq-2\ \ \ \ |:4\\\\x\\eq-0.5

The domain of
f(x)=(3x+1)/(4x+2)


D=\mathbb{R}-\{-0.5\}=(-\infty;\ -0.5)\ \cup\ (-0.5;\ \infty)
