Step 1: Subtract x from both sides.

1/3x +4− x =x −2− x

= -2/3 x +4 = -2

Step 2: Subtract 4 from both sides.

-2/3x + 4− 4 =−2− 4

-2/3x = -6

Step 3: Multiply both sides by 3/(-2).

( 3/-2 ) * (-2/3x ) = (3/-2) * (-6)

= 9

So , X=9
