What factoring method do you use to factor u²+70

1) difference of
squares
2) GCF
3) not foctorable
4) factor trinomial

Answer: 3) Not factorable

We cannot use the difference of squares method because we don't have a subtraction going on (ie "difference") and we don't have two perfect squares. The value 70 is not a perfect square.

We cannot factor out a GCF since the GCF here is 1, and that doesn't really affect things. Choice 4 is also not applicable because we don't have a trinomial. A trinomial has three terms.
