For 30 hours Julio is paid 30r dollars.

For the extra 5 hours he worked he earns 5*1.4r = 7r dollars

So the equation is

30r + 7r = 436.60

37r = 436.60

r = 436.60 / 37 = 11.80

His normal hourly rate is $11.80 answer
