The rule for triangle sides is that any one side must be less than the sum of the other two sides.

x < 6+5.8
x < 11.8

6 < x+5.8
6-5.8 < x
0.2 < x

5.8 < x+6
5.8-6 < x
-0.2 < x
* x is a distance, cannot be negative or zero

0.2 < x < 11.8
