In the isosceles triangle two sides of the triangle are equal .

Let us assume that the two equal sides each of length x .

Thus

Perimeter = Sum of all sides

Perimeter = x + x + y

7.5 = 2x + 2.1

7.5 - 2.1 = 2x

5.4 = 2x


x = (5.4)/(2)

x = 2.7 m

Therefore the value of x is 2.7 and the equation used for finding the value of x is 7.5 = 2.1 +2x.
