Answer:

x=2.851,-0.351

Explanation:

Given : Equation
2x^2-5x+1=3

To find : Solve for x in the equation ?

Solution :

Equation
2x^2-5x+1=3

Subtract 3 both side,

2x^2-5x+1-3=3-3

2x^2-5x-2=0

Solve by quadratic formula,

x=(-b\pm√(b^2-4ac))/(2a)

Here, a=2,b=-5,c=-2

x=(-(-5)\pm√((-5)^2-4(2)(-2)))/(2(2))

x=(5\pm√(25+16))/(4)

x=(5\pm√(41))/(4)

x=(5+√(41))/(4),(5-√(41))/(4)

x=2.851,-0.351

Therefore, The value of x are
x=2.851,-0.351
