To solve this, you need to make a system of equations. First assign a variables a letter (I made calories in the fries x and the soda y). Now figure out what we know. 2 times the calories in fries (x) + 3 times the calories in soda = 1500 but we can simplify to 2x+3y=1500. The other thing we know is that each large order of fries has 350 more calories than one large soda so we can make this x+350=y. Now we just have to solve.

First isolate a variable (we already have this done with x+350=y. Now we can plug that in the place of the variable that is isolated to get 2x+3(x+350)=1500 and solve.

2x+3(x+350)=1500

2x+3x+1050=1500

5x=450

x=90

So your answer is 9- calories in a large order of fries.
