So firstly, multiply both sides of the second equation by -1:
6x+3y=-12\\ -6x-2y=4

Next, add the 2 equations together to get
y=-8

Now that we have y, substitute the value into y of either equation and solve:

6x+3(-8)=-12\\ 6x-24=-12\\ 6x=12\\ x=2\\ \\ 6x+2(-8)=-4\\ 6x-16=-4\\ 6x=12\\ x=2

In short, y = -8 and x = 2.
