Why did the mayflower pilgrims land at Plymouth

Because they wanted to go to New York but the weather stop them!

They were suppose to land in what is now New York, but a storm threw them off-course and they instead landed in modern-day Massachusettes. Because of this, the King of England let them govern themselves, which turned out to be a major influence in the American Revolution.
