Because we know that both cars have the same rate for tax, we can set their ratios equal to each other:
(82)/(9200) = (x)/(9900)

Cross-multiply:
82 * 9900 = 9200x

Simplify:
811800 = 9200x

Divide both sides by 9200:
x = 88.2391304347826

They told us to round the solution to the nearest cent. Which gives us
x=$88.23
