There's 70 pages that are each 1/28 inch thick, so 70 all together is 70 * 1/28 = 2.5 inches thick.

There's 2 1/70 inch thick protecvtive pieces of paper, which is 2 * 1/70 = 1/35 inch thick together.

The cover is on both sides and is 1/8 inch on one side, so both sides are 2 * 1/8 = 0.25 inch thick together.

All together the total book is 1/35 + 0.25 + 2.5 = about 2.779 inches thick.

Answer:

2.78 inches

Explanation:

Given,

Total pages = 70,

Thickness of each page =
(1)/(28),

Thus, the total thickness of 70 pages =
70* ((1)/(28))=(35)/(14)

Also, each 2 sided page is preceded by a protective
(1)/(70) inches,

So, the total thickness of protective pages =
(1)/(70)* 2

=(1)/(35)

Now, the each side of the book is bound by 1/8 inch cover,

So, the total thickness of the cover =
2* (1)/(8)

=(1)/(4)

Hence, the total thickness of the book = thickness of 70 pages + thickness of protective pages + thickness of cover

=(35)/(14)+(1)/(35)+(1)/(4)

=(350 + 4+35)/(140)

=(389)/(140)

=2.77857

≈ 2.78 inches
