2l + 2w = 16

2(l + w) = 16

l + w = 8

Lengths could be any numbers greater than 0 and less than 8

0 < l < 8

Answer:

possible length is 1 to 7

Explanation:

The perimeter of a rectangle is 16 inches. The equation that represents the perimeter of the rectangle is
2l + 2w = 16, where l represents the length of the rectangle and w represents the width of the rectangle.

2l + 2w = 16, divide the whole equation by 2

l + w = 8, now subtract 'w' on both sides

l =8-w

Here , width should be greater than 1. Suppose width =1 ,

then length = 8-1=7. It means the length should be less than 1

So , the possible length of the rectangle is between 1 to 7
