The formula for tangent is,

tan \theta=(Opposite side)/(Adjacent side)

In the given triangle ABC, BC is the opposite side and AC is the adjacent side. So,

tan A=(BC)/(AC)

tan A=(7)/(24)

So, C is the correct choice.

The given triangle is a right triangle which is right angled at angle C.

For angle A the adjacent side is AC,the opposite side is BC while hypotenuse is AB .In the given triangle adjacent =24 ,opposite =7 and hypotenuse =25.

Tan of any angle is the ratio of opposite and adjacent .

Tan =
(opposite)/(adjacent)

Tan A=
(7)/(24)
