Should universities continue to support football, considering the large body of evidence that indicates that many players will get concussions and of those, some will suffer life-time debilitation from chronic traumatic encephalopaty (cte)?

Football is indeed a really dangerous sport, and could even be considered lethal in some cases considering the large amout of head-related injuries, and this might be the negative part of the sport.

But there is a positive part, a really noticable one. Sports and the ability to play them is something many students use to enter universities since many of these people don't have the best or the required grades to enter university.

Another noticable and positive way that soprts including football affect peoples life's is by, in a really minor but existant way, reducing obesity.

Hope it helped,

Happy homework/ study/ exam!
