Faustus is a goal-oriented and sharp man. This can be seen as he sells his spirit to satisfy his desire. He utilizes enchantments with the end goal to reinforce his capacity and learning which make him perilous.
All things considered, possibly Faustus could have restricted himself and utilized his magical abilities to accomplish something advantageous, similar to, say, sparing lives. In any case, rather, he utilizes it to inertly entertain himself and, most abominably, to play mean traps on laborers and courtiers like Benvolio.
