Start by subtracting 10 from both sides to get
-x alone.

-x + 10 = -5

-x + 10 - 10 = -5 -10

-x = -15

Now divide each side by 1 to get rid of the negative.

-x = -15

(-x)/(-1) = (-15)/(-1)

x = 15

This means that in the equation
-x is 15.

If you want to check if that's correct just plugin 15 for
-x into the equation.

-x + 10 = -5

-15 + 10 = -5 ✓
correct
