Hey!

Since both fractions are negative, the answer will be negative.

Change both fractions so that they have a common denominator: 10

(3 * 2)/(5 * 2) = (6)/(10)

(8 * 5)/(2 * 5) = (40)/(10)

Add the fractions:

(6)/(10) + (40)/(10) = 4 (6 / 2)/(10 / 2) =4 (3)/(5)

Add the negative sign:

4 (3)/(5) = -4 (3)/(5)

That means your answer is 4 3/5

\framebox{Answer = -4 $(3)/(5)$}
