Stacey is selling tickets to the school play. the tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children. she sells twice as many adult tickets as children's tickets and brings in a total of $352. how many of each kind of ticket did she sell?

Let a and c represent the numbers of tickets sold.

Then a = 2c (twice as many adult tickets as children's tickets)

Then the equation relating the dollar amounts is

($6/ticket)(2 c) + ($4/ticket)(c) = $352

Then $12c + $4c = $352, so $16c = $352.

Solving this for c, we get 22. Then a = 2c = 2(22) = 44
