The FDG, or Flue Gas Desfulfurization does exactly what its last name says, DESULFURIZE, which in other words mean to exctract all the
SO_(2) from the coal.

Answer:

These equipments are also called "scrubbers".

Step-by-step explanation:

Flue gas desulphurisation (DGC) is a suite of equipment used to remove sulfur dioxide (SO2) from combustion gases in fossil fuel-fired power plants, as well as from other industrial processes that emit sulfur dioxide ( SO2). These equipments are also called "scrubbers".
