Assume that no interaction occurs between house size (x1) and number of bedrooms (x2). does number of bedrooms (x2) confound the relationship between house price (y) and house size (x1)? why?

Yes, x2 is probably a confounding factor because it changes the size of the rooms in a house of a given size. Room size probably affects the price.
