A washing machine is filling up with water at a constant rate. The rate is 3/4 of a gallon in 1/5of a minute. Don calculated the unit rate to be 3/20 of a gallon per minute. What did he do wrong?

he found out 1/5 of 3/4 instead of multiplying by 5

First, we need to see what 1/5 of a minute is.
60÷5=12
So, there's 3/4 of a gallon every 12 seconds. We need to multiply 3/4 by 5 to find every minute.
3/4×5=15/4=3 3/4
.But, you can tell that he multiplied 3/4 by 1/5, which is not right since you're suppose to do it by 5. But the answer is 3 1/2 gallon per minute.
