A triangular garden has an area of 144 ft2 . If the base is 8 ft long , what is the height?

Hey!
So a triangle's area is (b*h) / 2
so we know then that 144 is divided by 2, now we need to multiply it by 2 to see what the base and height equal when multiplied.
144 * 2 is 288
So 8 and the height need to be multiply to equal 288
to find the height we can divide 288 by 8 because the way we would set up this would be 8h = 288 and so to get the h alone we would have to divide
The height is 36!

(8*h)/ 2 = 144
(8h) / 2 * 2 = 144*2
8h = 288
8h / 8 = 288/8
h=36
