The longer leg of a right triangle is 4 ft

longer than the shorter leg. The hypotenuse is 8ft
longer than the shorter leg. Find the side lengths of the triangle.

So the equation would be “a squared +4 squared=8 squared.” Then you would square 4 which would be 16 and 8 which would be 64. Now the equation is a squared+ 16=64 the rest is basic algebra. Subtract 16 from 64 which is 48. Now you have a squared= 48. You get the square root of both sides so now you have the square root of a is 6.9. I’m pretty sure that’s how you do it. I apologize if I’m incorrect.
