we know that
the area of a Kite is half the product of the diagonals
so
A=(D1*D2)/2

step 1
find the area of a kite
in this problem
A=6*12/2------> 36 in²

step 2
The wall is 12 feet across-------> convert to inches
1 ft is equal to 12 in
so
12ft=12*12------> 144 in

step 3
divide 144 in by 6 in (across kite)
144/6=24 (number of a kites in the wall)

step 4
Multiply the number of kites by the area of one kite

24*36=864 in
²

the answer is
864 in²
