I looked outside to see another gray, smoggy day. I asked my computer for permission to take a walk, but was denied. It looked as if I'd be staying indoors by myself today. Again. Surprisingly, in the afternoon the computer declared it necessary to obtain fiber and protein. Apparently, food resources had gotten low. I guess I'll get to go outside today after all.

How would the author best resolve this situation to create a feeling of amusement?
A. Readers learn that the narrator is a dog who sees his owner as an all-powerful computer that runs his life.
B. Readers learn that all the characters in this society have similar experiences with computers in their homes.
C. The narrator continues taking orders from the computer and later refers to it as "my lord."
D. The narrator struggles to dismantle the computer and takes back control of his own life.

Answer: A) Readers learn that the narrator is a dog who sees his owner as an all-powerful computer that runs his life.

Step-by-step explanation: In the given excerpt we can see the description of an interaction between a "computer" and another being (it can be a person, an animal, etc), where the computer is in charge giving permission to go out, and to get food. From the given options the one that would create a feeling of amusement is the corresponding to option A, because the fact that the narrator is a dog that sees its owner as a computer is unexpected and funny.
