Solve for x: 4x-5=7x+2

The answer would be -7/3x. This is because we would have to subtract 2 from each side (using like terms this we would rewrite it as) 4x-7=7x. Then we would subtract 4x from each side to get -7=3x. Then we divide by 3 on each side(leaving us with -7/3x)

Add 5 to both sides.

4x = 7x + 7
Subtract 7x from both sides.

-3x = 7
Divide both sides by -3.

x = -
