The reformation was sparked by the posting of the 95 Theses by Luther.
The 95 Theses that Martin Luther posted on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany consisted on the concerns that Luther had in regard with certain practices carried out by the church, such as the sale of indulgences.
In this sense, the Reformation consisted on a movement within Western Christianity carried out in Europe during the sixteenth-century that meant a religious and political challenge to the Roman Catholic Church and papal authority.
Martin Luther was a German monk and Professor of Theology at the University of Wittenberg.
