Hey there!

Change the "addition" symbol to "subtraction"

We get:
12x - x \ \textless \ x +22 -x

Out of that equation we just made we get:
11x \ \textless \ 22

Now:
11x \ \textless \ 22

We have to divide by
11 on each of your sides

Like:
(11x)/(11) \ \textless \ (22)/(11)

Cancel out:
(11x)/(11) because it gives you
1

Keep:
(22)/(11) because it gives you the result of
2 which gives us the number on the other side of the less than sign

Finally, our answer:
x \ \textless \ 2 (option
C )

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
