Zipora tries to eat soup that is too hot. She takes one spoonful and then puts the soup down. What neurological process is occurring?

A. The frontal lobe of the brain conveys a message to the occipital lobe that the soup is too hot; the occipital lobe then makes a decision to put down the soup, so it sends that message to the temporal lobe.

B. The efferent nerves send a message to the brain that the soup is too hot, then the brain sends a message through the afferent nerves for Zipora to put down the spoon.

D. The afferent nerves send a message to the brain that the soup is too hot, then the brain sends a message through the efferent nerves for Zipora to put down the spoon.

The answer is D because it is a way of how the brain alerts the body that something is harming you

The answer is D. The reason being is because afferent nerves are the primary type of nerves that relay sensory information to the brain and efferent nerves carry back the signal onto the limbs.
