2/7 x + 10/3 = 3/21

convert fractions to same denominator
6/21 x + 70/21 = 3/21
6/21 x = -67/21
x = -67/21 * 21/6
x = -67/6

First place each fraction under a common denominator. Remember to multiply to both numerator and denominator.

The smallest denominator will be 21

2/7(3/3) = 6/21
10/3(7/7) = 70/21

6/21x + 70/21 = 3/21

Isolate the x, subtract 70/21 from both sides

6/21x + 70/21 (-70/21) = 3/21 (-70/21)

6/21x = 3/21 - 70/21

6/21x = - 67/21

Next, isolate the x by multiplying 21/6 to both sides

6/21(21/6)x = -67/21(21/6)

x = (-67/21)(21/6)

x = -1407/126

x = - 11.167 (rounded)

-11.167 is your answeer

hope this helps
