Circumference = 2 x Pi x Radius (R)
Pi = approximately 3.14

-> 31.4 = 2 x 3.14 x R
-> R x 6.28 = 31.4
-> R = 31.4/6.28
-> R = 5 units

Area = Pi x R^2

-> Area = 3.14 x 5^2
-> Area = 3.14 x 25
-> Area = 78.5 Units^2

Answer:

The area of the circle is 78.5 unit square.

Explanation:

Given : The circumference is 31.4 units.

To find : The area of the circle ?

Solution :

The circumference of the circle is
C=2\pi r

Where, r is the radius

C is the circumference C=31.4 units

31.4=2\pi r

r=(31.4)/(2* 3.14)

r=5

The radius of the circle is r=5 unit.

The area of the circle is
A=\pi r^2

A=3.14* 5^2

A=3.14* 25

A=78.5

Therefore, The area of the circle is 78.5 unit square.
