Using the standard equation quadratic function:


y= a*(x-h)^(2) +k\\h= 3 ,
k=-1,
a=1

Solving:


y=1*(x-3)^(2) + (-1)\\y=(x-3)^(2) -1

The second function have origin in the point (3,1) so making the function x=3


g(x)= (x -3)^(2)-1\\g(3)= (3 -3)^(2)-1\\ g(3)=-1
