Martin Luther King, Jr. was the leader of the Montgomery bus boycott who also became the spokesperson for non-violent protest by African American. Based on his faith as a  Christian, King believed that violence was not the solution to the adversities facing the Blacks. Thus, he advocated for a non-violent movement in the fight for freedom and equality for the African-Americans.
