Answer:

1) a = 0

Explanation:

Taking logarithms base 2, we have ...

-3a·log2(1/8) = 3a·log2(512)

-3a(-3) = 3a(9)

27a -9a = 0 . . . . . . . subtract 9a

a = 0/18 = 0 . . . . . . divide by 18

The solution is a = 0.
