this swollen area is called a hematoma. Hematomas are caused by an injury to the wall of a blood vessel, prompting blood to seep out of the blood vessel into the surrounding tissues, also could be caused by trauma. a hematoma may heal by itself.

Hope this helped :)

Answer:

This swollen area is a hematoma (bruise).

A "hematoma" is defined as a collection or accumulation of blood, in a particular place in the body, due to the rupture of blood vessels or veins, and consequent leakage that was caused by some injury, such as a blow or the break of a bone, example. The "bruise" is also known as bruise.

It is characterized by dark spots, which may be brown, red or blue, located under the skin, nails, organs and tissues, may present swelling. Bruises are usually caused by some kind of shock, trauma, accidents, hematological changes or others.
