There are six classes of nutrients: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, and water. Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins can all be used by the body as sources of energy.

Answer:

Three classes: Proteins, Carbs and Fats.

Step-by-step explanation:

Carbohydrates, fats and proteins are macronutrients present in foods to provide calories / energy. Energy is used for the body's vital functions: respiration, circulation, protein synthesis, cell renewal, and physical work.

Carbohydrates are 50-60% components of the diet, carbohydrates provide energy (brain is a totally glucose-dependent organ) and improve muscle recovery after activity. Each 1g provides 4 Kcal to body cells. They are present in breads, vegetables A (leaves) / B (vegetables) and C (potatoes, cassava, yam), cereals, pasta, fruits, legumes.

Fats are components of 20 to 30% of the diet, the largest source of energy for the body. Each 1g provides 9 Kcal. They help in absorbing fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. They can be broken down into good fats and bad fats so be careful when consuming them.

Protein makes up 15-20% of the diet. Larger structural components of cells in the human body. Proteins are important for tissue building and maintenance, enzyme formation, hormones, antibodies, and energy supply. Each 1g provides 4 Kcal. They are present in: meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, soy, legumes (beans, lentils, peas, chickpeas) and sausages / cold cuts.
