Since the perimeter of a rectangle is length+length+width+width, the equation for the perimeter is
2x-11+2x-11+3x+12+3x+12=52
Simplify the like terms to get
10x+2=52
Solve for x:
10x+2=52
-2 -2
10x=54
/10 /10
x=5.4
