Those 104 pages constituted (100% - 68%), or 32%, of his book. Then the # of pages in his book is found as follows:
0.32(# of pages) = 104 pages; # of pages 104 pages / 0.32 =325 pages.

STEP 1:
determine percent of book already read.
= 100% - 68%
= 32% already read
STEP 2:
determine what number 104 is 32% of to find number of pages in book.
x= number of pages in whole book
32% * x= 104
0.32 * x= 104
divide both sides by 0.32
x= 325 pages in whole book
ANSWER: He has 325 pages in his book.
Hope this helps! :)
